  • Old Schoolhouse Theater
    Built in 1896, this wonderful Island treasure was originally Sanibel's one room schoolhouse for many years. It was transformed into a theater in 1964 by Broadway veteran Ruth Hunter and her husband Philip. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 239-472-6862.

  • J.N. "Ding" Darling Wildlife Refuge
    This 5,000 acre sanctuary offers hiking, biking, and canoe trails. The 5-mile wildlife drive features more than 200 species of birds, many of which are threatened or endangered. You may also see turtles, alligators, otters, armadillos, and more! The Refuge is open daily, except Fridays, from 9 a.m. to sunset.

  • Sanibel Island Sunsets
    Sanibel Island Sunsets are almost impossible to describe! This is something you have to experience to believe. People come from all over the world to see the amazing Sanibel skies at sunset, glowing with shades of pinks, purples, and gold that will astound you. Be sure not to miss a Sanibel Sunset at the beach... you will never forget it!

  • The Sanibel Lighthouse
    The Sanibel Lighthouse stands on Point Ybel and is perhaps the most photographed spot on Sanibel Island. The 104-foot light tower was requisitioned in 1833.Fifty years later, the government declared the East end of Sanibel Island a lighthouse reservation and in 1884 the Sanibel Lighthouse was completed.
